Pipes 1

Day: Wednesday

Aimed to get you playing tunes straight away, learning ornaments, embellishment and technique as you progress through the pipe tune repertoire.

Participants should be able to play the basic scale and a tune or two on a standard chanter.

Location: Harlaw Academy

Experience: Should be able to play scales and a few tunes at strathspey speed.

Maximum number: 12

Practical tips: Mouth or bellows-blown small pipes (preferably in ‘A’) should be used. Practice pipes with an ‘A’ chanter are also suitable.
