Lunchtime tunes on Sunday 26th January
Some Rare Old Tunes from Shooglie Peg
Shooglie Peg is a Donside duo/trio made up of members of the Alford Fiddlers and consists of Alan Carr on Clarsach and Bray Harp, Edwina Burridge on keyboards/piano, and Jim Talbot on fiddle and nyckelharpa. They play an eclectic mix of music from a number of genres, but mainly Scottish/Irish and Scandinavian, and often from C18th and before, with the music of the Gow family a particular favourite.
They are particularly keen on melodic tunes played at a slower pace than normally heard in sessions these days, and they research our music to reflect an interest in early Scottish music. Come along for some rare old tunes on Sunday 26th January 1-2 pm
