One of Scotland's leading mandolin players Dagger has played in many Highland based bands and released a number of albums. He has also written and excellent Scottish mandolin tutor book.

"Dagger's playing always has a brightness and sparkle to it that gives his music a verve and dynamism all of it's own" Living Traditions.

This workshop is suitable for mandolins and members of the mandolin family along with tenor banjo. Focusing on technique including adding chords within tunes and playing with drive. Details of the tunes to be covered will be released prior to the workshop.

Dagger enjoys passing on his skills on mandolin and guitar and other fretted instruments to others and is a regular tutor with Feis Rois. He is a full time farmer, raising sheep and cattle on his farm near Invergordon.

The workshops will take place at the MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, AB24 3FX. Free Parking available outside MacRobert building. Tea and coffee will be available through the day. Please bring your own food for lunch.
