The Voyage of the Hector” is coming back to Aberdeen – Save the Date - 16th & 17th March 2024
Following a fantastic weekend workshop in November 2022 and in response to popular demand, we are delighted to announce that we will hosting another weekend with John Somerville on 16th and 17th March 2024. This will give participants the opportunity to be involved in a fantastic weekend of interactive ensemble music making based around the musical suite, “The Voyage of the Hector”.
During the weekend you will have the exciting opportunity to play under the direction of the incredibly talented John Somerville himself and learn about the history and context of the voyage, and those aboard the ship. There will be music for all traditional instruments, and for musicians at an upper intermediate and advanced level. Sight reading ability desirable. There will be a sharing concert at the end of the event where it is hoped movements from the piece can be showcased.
You can purchase the tunebook and CD at feisrois.bandcamp.com
