Here’s our Flute tutor, Malcolm Reavell, to tell you more about the flute 2/3 class.

The course is for intermediate and advanced players and will cover technique, repertoire, style, a bit of theory and, where appropriate, a bit of history. The course will focus mainly on Scottish music with occasional detours into tune writing, improvisation, harmonies, other types of flute music and playing, and maybe a little about flute maintenance. The course is for players of traditional wooden flute, with or without keys. Players of Boehm system flutes are also welcome. It will be taught by ear with written material in support.

Term starts in the week beginning 2nd February, so don’t wait to sign up.🏃‍♂️

1 = Beginner – Have only been playing for a short time.

2 = Intermediate – Have been playing for a while and can play some tunes

We will allow movement up or down a level if you find it too easy/difficult. Just let us know early in the term.
